And as we start the new year, perhaps it is instructive to reflect on the past. For example, the definitive statement made in 2007, at the introduction of the 'Melbourne Model': "Prof Davis said the changes would not result in job losses at the university."

Keep up the good work. I have witnessed the terrible damage inflicted on the main campus by Glyn Davis and his cronies, and am appalled that it should be repeated elsewhere. I see that MU is pouring more millions into advertising over the last couple of months, trying to paper over the staff losses and course cuts with expensive 'spin' in order to attract students. Shame.

The 'photo' in your greeting is a beautiful illustration of the importance of nurturing the creative talents within our community. The layers of symbols in the photo have not gone unnoticed. So, from someone who suffers from depression, thanks for waging the inspiring struggle to salvage something from the terrible mess perpetrated by Melbourne University. Who knows, perhaps we'll end up with what we deserve -- a shinier, brighter, cleverer, independent VCA. Best wishes for the campaign ahead.

Starting 2011, our G'Daughter would love to do your course, *** provided *** VCA reverts to its original, successful format!
