The University is probably spending many tens of thousands of dollars just on defensive advertising and PR hype to contradict the submissions to this review. In a very real sense, the submissions to this review were a public referendum on the 'Melbourne Model', and the result is a clear rejection. It can only be hoped that the state government will show some leadership in restoring the VCA to the proudly successful institution it was; a national treasure situated in one of the most livable cities in the world, Melbourne.
